Protack Tackmeter

The ProTack was developed to answer the needs of organisations using the measurement of tack as a quality assurance test.

While the Tack-O-Scope may be used for in-depth investigation of tack performance in the development lab, this more robust unit gets to work in production showing the difference between right and wrong.

The unit can be set-up to measure the characteristics that are most appropriate to the ink or coating and anyone can make a test by applying the sample and pressing the start button.

What could be simpler!

Tack-o-Scope Tackmeter

This instrument was originally developed by the Rudolph Meijer Printing Ink Factory, Amsterdam.

In 1993, Testprint offered a state-of-the-art fully computer controlled Tack-o-Scope.

This Tack-O-Scope has significantly improved performance, and with its proven reliability and repeatability, has opened a new range of possibilities for the user.

Although a manually operated speed selection is still available, the computer allows a programmed measurement sequence of speed and timing to be input, with the data being automatically logged by dedicated software, rather than exclusively on graph paper.

Immediate comparison of recorded readings with a standard reading is now possible.

Continual product improvement and development ensuring new analysis and control functions means the Tack-o-Scope will meet your current AND future tack testing needs.

The new Tack-O-Scope is a modular system; standard models can be upgraded to computer control at any time.

The Mickle Proofer (Formerly the Peach Proofer)

The Mickle Proofer System consists of separate Inker and Printing units. Their design is the results of many years experience in the production of proofing equipment for the ink industry and is used extensively by both ink manufacturers and printers, from small independent to large multinational companies.

The Inker is a three roller system, made up of a dividing roller and a rubber distribution roller which transfers the ink to the print disc. The print disc is then transferred to the Printer unit. The material to be
printed, which may include paper, card or tin plate is clipped on to the substrate carrier and placed on the printing ledge of the printer. The print disc is then lowered into position and a print is produced.

  • Creates mini colour proofs with offset inks for use by colour computers - Simple to use procedure
  • Saves time and money
  • No on press proofing is required
  • Consistent - Free from operator variables.

Universal Testprinter

The all-new Universal Testprinter is a breakthrough in printability testing!

Using the latest developments in ultra fast digital motion control has eliminated the complicated system of springs, cams, gears and pulleys found in similar testers.

The Universal Testprinter is modular. A single colour system can be upgraded to two, three or four printing shafts, at any time in the future!

NOT IN TESTPRINT'S WORKSHOP, BUT IN YOUR LABORATORY!

The Universal Testprinter complies with all international standards. Dry pick, wet pick, wet repellence, mileage, colour measurement, trapping, back trap mottle, setting, automated set off, you name it!

All common applications are already programmed for you, directly accessible from a unique on-board database. But you can also program your own!

The instrument IS TRULY UNIVERSAL in the sense that it is capable of simulating all common printing techniques: offset, flexography, gravure and letterpress - ALL ON THE SAME INSTRUMENT!

There is no need to buy a separate tester for each individual application! Simply selecting the right accessory determines the application of the Universal Testprinter.

Hydro-Scope

In an offset press, the fountain solution is used to separate ink from the image and non-image areas on the offset plate. This is why ink on a full size running offset press is seldom “dry”, but an emulsion of ink paste and fountain solution.

In order to be able to simulate this in the laboratory requires a dedicated procedure to maintain stable conditions for printing.

Hydroscopic measurements provide the basis for these conditions.

The Hydro-Scope offers a procedure for the preparation of printing emulsions, which correlate with such emulsions on a full size press.

With the “Hydroscope Printability Unit” you can ink up a printing disc in zero time and immediately make a print on paper. This enables the investigation of how REAL ink/fount emulsions interact with a known paper as a function of transfer and print/show through.

Predict how a lithographic ink will perform on a press!

Universal Inking Unit

The Universal Inking Unit was specifically developed to handle process colours in the laboratory to produce even ink layers on a printing disc in the shortest possible time. This is especially important for tests where ink drying and ink setting on paper plays an important role.

The surface speed with this inking unit can be adjusted between 10-100 m/min and the roller system can be thermostated with a normal water bath. Distribution rollers for UV inks are available on request.

The printing discs are attached to special levers and can be removed easily. All components, including the covers, are manufactured from high grade stainless steel for durability and ease of cleaning. The rubber covered distribution rollers store inside the machine in special brackets.

The Universal Inking Unit is the most modern and sophisticated solution in inking up printing discs for all common printability tests and applications.
